ROAD TO PARADISE
Embark on a thrilling journey with two siblings, Hazel and Ivy, who win coveted tickets to a supposed utopia known as Paradise. Eager for a new life, the duo sets sail for the luxurious Isle Mirage, a temporary stay for the winners and a haven for the wealthy. However, as the facade begins to crumble, the siblings and their new friends discover the shocking truth behind Paradise's deceptive allure. The disparate group of teenagers must band together to expose a corrupt government, navigate betrayals, and confront the harsh realities of their disillusioned paradise. Will they succeed in dismantling the clandestine operation and forge a true paradise, or will their dreams shatter like illusions on the Road to Paradise?
CAST
KATIE LEUTERITZ (Hazel Flynn) is a freshman at Northeastern University. She is from Southern New Hampshire and is majoring in Psychology. Katie has been on all sides of the theater, from running sound for the 24-hour musical to co-directing Addams Family this summer to playing a male manipulator in Radium Girls. When not on stage, she likes to watch movies with her roommate, explore the Bay Area, and catch up with her friends from back home!
JAZZ WANG ANDERA (Ivy Flynn) is currently an undeclared major with more interests than they can list here, but leaning towards social sciences and media arts. Jazz has been signing up for every club they can fit into their schedule for as long as they can remember. They haven't had time to be in a play since a 6th grade production of Peter Pan, so they're excited to be doing this. She hopes everyone enjoys the show!
GABBY TANEN (Rory Reed) is a freshman at Northeastern, and she is from New Jersey. She is majoring in Criminal Justice and Psychology. Gabby has been doing theater since the first grade, and she has been in way too many shows such as the 24-hour musical Heathers (JD), the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Marcy Park), and Urinetown (Josephine Strong). When she is not on stage you can find her hanging out with friends, watching terrible movies, skiing, or cooking! She wants to thank the cast and crew for putting on an amazing show!
ALEX GURL (President Clark Roberts) is a freshman from Brooklyn New York and is studying electrical engineering. When he should be studying Chem and Calc, he is rehearsing for this play. This is his first show ever, and in his free time, he enjoys playing music.
AUDREY LEUNG (Scarlett Taylor) is a freshman at Northeastern University. She is from Pelham, New York, and is currently undecided. She has been doing theater for 9 years and has been in productions of Mary Poppins, The Wizard of Oz, Peter Pan, Bye Bye Birdie, and a number of student-written plays. She has done both leading and ensemble roles on stage, and has also worked backstage. She’s so excited to be working with the cast and crew on this production of Road to Paradise!
LILY PALUMBO (August Roberts) is a freshman at Northeastern University. She is from Snohomish, Washington and is an engineering major. She loves theater and has been in theatrical productions since middle school, participating in leading and ensemble roles in productions including She Kills Monsters, Spamalot, High School Musical, Puffs, and more.
SAM LEBOWITZ (Drew Bellwether) is a freshman at Northeastern University. He enjoys theater and has been in theatrical productions for nearly a decade, participating in the productions of plays such as Annie, The Lion King, Little Shop of Horrors, Grease, and many more. He has participated both in leading and ensemble roles on stage and has also shined backstage, doing lights, sound, and management in some productions.
CHRIS SCHEER (Frankie Lucas) is a freshman at Northeastern University. She is from Brookline, Massachusetts, and is a part of the Explore Program for her major. Chris has been a part of the theater community for over a decade. As an actor, they have been both main players and ensemble members in shows including Aladdin, Annie, Heathers, and many many more. In more recent years she has also participated behind the scenes as a member of the crew, assistant music director, light board technician, assistant director, and writer. They are very excited to be a part of this community and get back on stage with all of these lovely actors!
HAILEY BOBEK (Kat Ellis) is a freshman at Northeastern University. She is from Cranston, Rhode Island, and is a business administration major with a concentration in finance. She has been doing theater for about 8 years now and loves to sing as well. Some past shows she has been in are Clue, Heathers, and Bye Bye Birdie. She has also been a part of various choir groups. She has participated both on stage and behind the scenes serving as a theater board president helping with fundraisers, budgeting etc. She can’t wait to be a part of Road to Paradise!
YOSELINE ORELLANA (Parker / Reporter 1) is a Senior at Mills at NU. They are from San Jose and are a Media Arts Major. They enjoy the theater and have been in theatrical productions for at least 5 years, participating in the productions of plays such as a modern take on Cyrano de Bergerac, Alice and Wonderland, Paper Bag Bandit, and more. They have participated both in leading and ensemble roles on stage. They also have experience in theater tech.
AARUSHI SHARMA (Quinn / Reporter 2) is a freshman at Northeastern University. She is from the Bay Area and is majoring in Computer Science and philosophy. She enjoys writing and DND and has been in theatrical productions since middle school, like A Sequence of Events Most Unusual. She has participated mostly in ensemble roles on stage. She’s so excited to continue performing in college!
SOPHIE FARRELL (Max) is a freshman at Northeastern University. She’s a Computer Science major from Hartford, Wisconsin. She loves reading and performing, having been in productions for the last 8 years. Most recently, she was in the musicals Legally Blonde and The Addams Family. She’s so excited to continue performing in college.
GABBY PATTERSON (Ollie) is a freshman at Northeastern University. She is from Dover, New Hampshire, and is majoring in English and Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology. With nearly a decade of theatrical experience, she has graced the stage in productions like Into the Woods, Anything Goes, Music Man, Spongebob the Musical, and many more. Outside the theater, Gabby still enjoys performing as she sings jazz competitively, and to relax, she chooses to watch romcoms. Gabby wants to thank her roommate Ali for all the hard work she’s put into the show, along with the many sleepless nights.
KEVIN COOPER (Logan) is a freshman Data Science major at Northeastern University. He loves watching musicals and participating in plays, having done both since the third grade. He has acted in, done tech for, and built sets for diverse productions from Addams Family to Radium Girls. He has had both leading and ensemble roles, enjoying both in equal measure. He is from Boston, Massachusetts, and is excited to be doing this show across the country.
CREW
ALISON KING (Director / Playwright) is so proud of this cast and crew for all the work they have put into her show. She is majoring in Business Administration with a minor in Media Arts. After writing Road to Paradise in her junior year of high school, she is super excited to bring this story back to the stage. Her other written work currently includes Dear June, a short film, and she hopes to write and produce more stories throughout her time in college.
ROSE MILLER (Stage Manager) is a global scholar majoring in Health Science and Business Administration. Rose does volunteer work in her free time, plays the electric bass (she is 6’2 btw), and cries when remembering women’s suffrage. Rose loves going to the gym and can do at least 10 push-ups. Rose had 3 kisses before realizing she liked women, and her first one was during the Nicolas Cage FNaF rip-off movie. Rose hasn’t done theater since middle school, but is excited to help out.
JORDAN BIALLY LEVY (Lights) has been doing tech for shows since 7th grade. She has done Sound Design, Props Design, and has been an Assistant Stage Manager in previous shows. These shows include Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, You're A Good Man Charlie Brown, and others. Jordan is super excited to be doing lighting for this show and expanding her technical theater knowledge.
MANDY ALEXANDER (Sound) is a freshman health science major at Northeastern University. She currently lives near Dallas, Texas, but spent time in 3 different countries during her childhood. She has worked backstage sound/mics before in her high school productions, and is very excited to do sound for Road to Paradise!
MARIANA KAULBACH (Sets) is very normal. Not only does she have fingers, she was also the second strongest boy in 5th grade and thus is fully equipped to pick things up and move them around. She also feels so normal about playing Guy #2 in this production.
EMMA DUTTON-VETA (Sets) is also normal. In her free time, she enjoys picking things up and moving them with her arms, sometimes for hours on end, which makes her perfect for her role as stagehand and Guy #3.
